Applications are now open for our 2026/27 Work-Based Learning Placements, designed for students whose course includes an industry placement year.

Animal Team Placement
Develop practical animal care skills while working alongside our animal teams. Placement students support husbandry, feeding, enrichment, welfare and guest engagement activities across a variety of species.

Conservation Science Placement
Work with our Conservation Science Team to support conservation projects, biodiversity monitoring, habitat management, data collection and conservation programme delivery.

Behaviour & Welfare Placement
Gain experience supporting animal behaviour monitoring, welfare assessments, data analysis and zoo-based research projects, helping to inform evidence-based welfare decisions.
