Keeper Experience
Would you like to experience being a keeper at Twycross Zoo or to treat someone to this unusual gift? With our keeper experience you will experience all aspects of animal care including cleaning, food preparation and feeding. This fun and interesting day includes refreshments, lunch, and a presentation certificate as a memento of your day. You must be aged 17 or over to take part in this experience.
Days: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday
What animals will I work with?
During the day you will be able to enjoy assisting our keepers on a variety of sections including pets, primates, elephants and birds. Although we will make every effort to include as many sections of the zoo as possible the itinerary for the day is only a guide and the running order of your experience may change.
What will I wear?
Being a keeper can be a messy job and you will be expected to muck in. Please wear suitable old clothes, we will provide overalls but please bring wellington boots or other suitable footwear. Don't forget your waterproofs just in case it rains, as you might be working outside.
What do I need to do when I arrive?
Please make your way to Guest Services for 9.00am, where you will sign the Health and Safety forms and be collected by member of the animal team and taken to your allocated section. Your day will end at approximately 4.30 pm
Costs
The adult keeper experience is £175.00 per person per day and includes a morning drink, toast and lunch.
