As at 17th July 08, we are looking for:

Construction at the Zoo

We have exciting plans for the next 15 years to renew and further develop our 88 acre site. All areas of the Zoo are involved with very naturalistic enclosures for every size of animal from the elephants down to the marmosets, and with builds ranging from a high tech science centre to a children’s pets area. If you have proven skills in these areas and have a zest for life, you could join our enthusiastic team at the Zoo.

We need to expand our construction and facilities capacity by adding the following new and permanent posts:

Clerk of Works: quality inspections; measure, record and control on site works; construction background; QS experience an advantage

Storekeeper: stock control; audit of onsite storage; processing orders and deliveries; keeping site tidy

Architectural Technician: CAD experience (3D essential); key role in the Zoo design team; 3 days per week considered with flexibility for up to 5 days, if required

Assistant Chef Competitive salary. Do you want to work at the Zoo as Assistant Chef and assist the F & B management in providing an efficient and profitable catering service to the Zoo’s visitors and staff? Your responsibilities would include motivating and supervising staff, creative cooking from fresh ingredients, preparation of other hot and cold food and ensuring all protocols and procedures are followed and recorded. You must hold relevant catering qualifications and display drive and commitment for the Zoo’s F & B development. You will also demonstrate effective staff management skills with a firm and fair approach. Work will be on a shift rota of 5 days in 7, including weekend work.
